Omar Khan
Global Leadership Expert and Transformational CoachA world-class leadership strategist shaping high-performing lives and businesses.
“We are made and unmade by our stories. Those we tell, those we endow, those we live into. And our stories at their best are positive sum – you win/I win/the world wins…that is the symphony of real leadership.”
— Omar S. Khan
A Book Distilled from Decades of Practice
In 2025, Khan published Loving Assertiveness: A Framework for Authentic Communication, distilling 35 years of practice into practical tools leaders can apply immediately. The book weaves together insights from his post-conflict reconciliation work, corporate consulting, and deep study of communication frameworks.
Each chapter offers clear, situation-specific frameworks drawn from real scenarios Khan has navigated across the globe.
Early response has been compelling. Workshop participants report breakthroughs in long-standing, stuck relationships after just two sessions. As one participant wrote, “I can’t believe this worked so fast when the barrier with my daughter has been there for years.”
Core Principles
Observation vs. Evaluation
Describe what you see/hear without judgment or interpretation.
Feelings & Needs
Connect to your own emotions and underlying needs, then express them.
Clear Requests
Ask for specific, actionable behaviors (not vague demands).
Empathetic listening
Hear what’s underneath the other person’s words.
Both/And Thinking
Hold multiple truths simultaneously rather than collapsing into either/or
Omar S. Khan
Omar Khan has spent 35 years in the places where communication matters most—and costs the most when it fails.
From corporate boardrooms to post-conflict zones across 50+ countries, he’s worked with leaders navigating impossible conversations: CEOs restructuring failing teams, families torn apart by unspoken resentments, communities rebuilding after violence.
He’s been mentored by Dr. M. Scott Peck (author of The Road Less Traveled), studied at Oxford and Stanford, and been rated an “All Star” by the Young Presidents’ Organization. His articles on leadership have appeared in The Washington Post and Consulting Magazine, FT, Across the Board, Leader to Leader, among others.
But what makes Omar’s work distinctive isn’t the credentials, it’s the integration. Loving Assertiveness synthesizes decades of practice across Nonviolent Communication, NLP, Transactional Analysis, and community-building into a single, immediately usable framework.
He founded 3S Catalyst Consulting to help organizations and individuals transform how they communicate under pressure. His clients include Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, American Express, 3M, and The Ritz-Carlton, among many others.
Omar has also written Liberating Passion, Beyond Synergy, The Global Consultant, and the upcoming, What Stories Shall We Tell?
He lives in New York with his wife, who collaborates with him on business development and content creation.
From Oxford University to post-conflict zones across six continents, Omar’s journey forged a powerful framework now embraced by Fortune 500 companies worldwide: Loving Assertiveness—the art of speaking truth while preserving trust.

Loving Assertiveness
We’ve exhausted nearly every expedient. We’ve tried force. We’ve tried silence. We’ve tried pretending everything is fine while resentment festers beneath polite surfaces. Perhaps it’s time, as a last resort, to try something radical: learning to actually communicate.
Most “difficult conversations” frameworks leave you more disconnected than before. Standard assertiveness training teaches you to push harder while relationships crumble. New Age positivity asks you to suppress what’s real. None of it works. Loving Assertiveness offers a third way.
What Stories Shall We Tell
We are the stories we tell. The world’s trove has become impoverished—thin gruel made of expediency and zero-sum thinking—while the world has never needed its citizens’ leadership more. Through marriages and boardrooms, post-conflict zones and national odysseys, Omar Khan reveals what thirty-five years across fifty countries has taught him: the choice of the stories we tell is the choice of the lives we will lead and the future we will invite.
